I first started this project by looking at the first computer generated graphics and
how they became a very influential form of art. I discovered that many of these were
created with plotters and I decided that it would be interesting for me to make my own
that I could control in different ways.
I was able to create the plotter using two old computer cd drives and an arduino. I then started to feed data to the plotter from sensors. As the plotter started to come together and I began to receive graphs of the sensors I decided that I would like my project to be site specific and for the plotter to plot the values that the sensors were taking in from the gallery.
I decided to incorporate sound and video into my work to create more of an impact in my piece and give the sense that the piece was alive and active. Using multiple arduinos and sensors I was able to control the video playing and sound pitch with the sensor values.
